I am the shirtless little girl in the foreground. My grandparents, Julius Walter (Poppy) and Lottie Mae Lael (Mammy) Blackburn are at their house in the Blackburn community in southwestern Catawba County. I guess this photo was made about 1957. I am not sure how old I was, but I guess I was about 3. I don't know if the little boy in the photo is my brother Richard. Mammy's stance in this photo is her typical posture. I love this photo for that reason. She looks so much the way I remember her. I wish I had that pottery crock in the background!
