B. My Blackburn grandparents

My father told me that this photo of my grandparents, taken about 1940, is special because my grandmother, Lottie Mae Lael Blackburn, made the dress she is wearing from material sent to her by her brother Danny (Jacob Daniel Lael), who lived in Washington state. She also used the material to make the tie my grandfather, Julius Walter Blackburn, is wearing in the photo. In the background is Blackburn School. Their house was right next to the school. This is in the Blackburn community in southwestern Catawba County, North Carolina.
