Lottie Mae Lael was a young unmarried woman at the time this photo was taken. She had deep red hair that remained red, though streaked with gray, well into her old age. I think she was lovely in this photo. She told me that as a young woman she worked in a cigarette factory. I think it was in Winston-Salem.
